Preparation for the "Step 3" exam begins from the first days of internship training, regardless of whether the intern physician is studying full-time or part-time.
After completing the internship, intern physicians receive a specialist physician certificate (from the department), which allows them to work in the specialty for 5 years.
Employment record entries regarding internship training are made by the higher education institution where the graduate completes their internship, provided an employment record book with prior entries exists.
For interns studying under the state order, employment record entries are made by the HR department of the NCI internship base.
For graduates who do not have an employment record book, these entries are made by the owner or authorized body at the place of future employment when issuing the employment record book, based on extracts from the orders of the postgraduate education institution on admission to and completion of the internship, as specified in the certificate.
Having all entries in an employee's employment record book allows their length of service to be correctly calculated for certification purposes in the future, since the internship period counts toward work experience for certification in a given medical specialty.
For medical school graduates who want to choose to complete their internship at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), please fill out the application form.
We are open to cooperation and feedback. Our specialists are always ready to help and provide the necessary clarifications.
