Our medical physics team provides technical support, quality assurance, and equipment safety for diagnostics and treatment.
The Engineering Group of the Radiology and Radiation Therapy Center is a team of medical physicists that provides proper technical support, uninterrupted operation, and modernization of the Center's medical equipment and infrastructure. This ensures that diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed to a modern standard, in compliance with quality and safety standards.
The Engineering Group's key tasks and responsibilities include selecting equipment, overseeing installation, commissioning, configuration, and organizing the quality assurance system for medical equipment from various manufacturers: computed tomography scanners, magnetic resonance imaging scanners, X-ray machines, mammography systems, radiation therapy systems (linear accelerators, isotope sources), nuclear medicine equipment, and more.
The Engineering Group performs dosimetric calculations for patient treatment plans, oversees the safe introduction of new treatment methods and approaches into clinical use, and ensures compliance with technical standards and safety — regular equipment checks, calibration, and maintenance of compliance with international standards.
