The National Cancer Institute is launching a program to provide the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab to patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma. This is the first time the drug has been purchased with state budget funds — by the State Enterprise "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The program is open to patients with histologically or immunohistochemically confirmed skin melanoma for whom radical removal of the tumor or metastases is not possible.
Eligibility is determined individually by the National Cancer Institute's multidisciplinary team (MDT) after reviewing the patient's medical records.
Important. A referral to the National Cancer Institute does not automatically guarantee access to the drug. The decision is made individually after evaluating all criteria.
