Neurosurgeons Yurii Perekopaiko and Andrii Vakar have successfully completed a two-week internship at the neuro-oncology department of Marseille University Hospital (Marseille University Hospital Timone) and are already actively incorporating this international experience into their practice.
The neuro-oncology department in Marseille is known throughout Europe and the world for implementing the most advanced diagnostic and laboratory technologies, as well as experimental treatment methods. It is led by Professors Emeline Tabouret and Olivier Chinot, who together have authored more than 400 publications in the field of neuro-oncology.
Our colleagues paid close attention to how patient care is organized at the clinic and familiarized themselves with the medical information system that provides access to a patient's complete medical history. They also reviewed the facility's diagnostic capabilities and visited the center where clinical trials are conducted.
The motivation of our specialists returning from international internships is an important driving force for implementing modern approaches to patient care at the National Cancer Institute. We extend our sincere gratitude to our French partners for their warm welcome, willingness to share knowledge, and openness to further cooperation.
