National Cancer Institute Hosts Masterclass on Infection Control in Oncology

On January 27, 2026, the Education Academy and Infection Control Department of the National Cancer Institute, together with specialists from the Public Institution "Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine," held a one-day educational event for Institute staff — a masterclass titled "Implementing Infection Control in Oncology."

The event was held as part of the continuing professional development system and was aimed at improving the professional knowledge and practical skills of medical staff in the field of infection control.

Program Highlights

Participants covered current topics, including:

• prevention of catheter-associated infections;
• assessment of engineering controls for infection prevention and control in healthcare facilities;
• implementation of a multimodal hand hygiene strategy and compliance monitoring;
• organization of a medical waste management system.
