An important event recently took place for everyone fighting cancer. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has approved the first national standard for radioiodine therapy in the treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer (Order No. 1217).
Until now, Ukrainian doctors relied on foreign protocols. Now we have our own scientifically grounded document, created by our own specialists and adapted specifically to Ukrainian conditions and resources. This means greater confidence for doctors and timely, effective, and safe treatment for patients.
The standard was developed by a team of radionuclide therapy specialists from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odesa, led by Professor Oksana Solodiannikova, Doctor of Medical Sciences and head of the Department of Radionuclide Diagnostics and Therapy at the National Cancer Institute.
This is yet another proof that Ukrainian medicine is not standing still, but confidently developing, even in the most difficult times.
