Our Doctors Complete Training at Yale Cancer Center (USA)

In July 2025, our colleagues — Andrii Tymoshenko, PhD in Medicine, urologist at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Oncourology, and Vladyslav Med, head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Cytopathology — completed professional training at one of the world's leading cancer centers**: Yale Cancer Center / Smilow Cancer Hospital (New Haven, USA).**

The center is part of the network of the top 56 cancer centers in the United States designated by the National Cancer Institute of the United States (NCI), and it invests roughly $96 million annually in scientific research. Here, advanced technology is combined with evidence-based medicine and a multidisciplinary approach to give patients the best possible chances of recovery.

Here is what Andrii Tymoshenko learned:

• High-precision MRI/ultrasound fusion biopsy of the prostate (ExactVu, Artemis).
• Blue Light™ cystoscopy for early detection of bladder cancer and reduced risk of recurrence.
• Robotic minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci system, including Single-Port surgery, which allows patients to be discharged the same day.
• Use of intraoperative fluorescence marking and 3D navigation for maximally precise interventions.
• Working in multidisciplinary teams to personalize treatment based on the patient's genetic profile.

And Vladyslav Med is now well-versed in the following technologies:

• Fully automated workflows and digital pathology: WSI scanners, instant access to archives, remote consultations, and telepathology.
• Extended IHC panels and multiplex immunofluorescence (multiplex IHC), with close integration with the molecular laboratory for precise determination of tumor mutation profiles.
• Use of artificial intelligence algorithms to assist in evaluating HER2, PD-L1, Ki-67, and other biomarkers.
• Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, where pathologists, oncologists, surgeons, and radiologists jointly decide on personalized treatment strategies for patients.
