Endoscopic Diagnostic Department
Modern endoscopic diagnostics and early detection of cancer
The Endoscopic Diagnostic Department of the National Cancer Institute specializes in advanced endoscopic diagnostics of oncological diseases, in particular the early detection of cancer and precancerous conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. The department provides specialized medical care to patients from all regions of Ukraine.
The department’s main objective is the early diagnosis of cancer, accurate disease staging, morphological confirmation of the diagnosis, and development of an optimal individualized treatment strategy. The department is staffed by highly qualified endoscopists with many years of experience in working with patients with oncological diseases.
Main areas of work
- Endoscopic diagnosis of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract
- Early detection of precancerous conditions
- Endoscopic biopsies
- Endoscopic ultrasound diagnostics
- Interdisciplinary oncological consultations
Modern minimally invasive endoscopic interventions are performed, including EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection) and ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection). These techniques allow removing tumors at early stages through endoscopic access, without open surgery, with maximum organ preservation and shortened recovery time.
