Department Overview

Modern Surgical Treatment of Head and Neck Tumors

The Department of Head and Neck Tumors is one of the Institute’s leading units, established in 1971. It has 40 inpatient beds and equipment that enables the full range of surgical procedures, including modern and minimally invasive techniques. The department’s staff are actively engaged in scientific work: over the past five years, they have published numerous professional articles, obtained patents, and developed methodological guidelines.

Malignant tumors:
  • lip, oral cavity, oropharynx, nasopharynx, larynx, and hypopharynx
  • salivary glands
  • nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses
  • jaws (upper and lower)
  • thyroid gland
  • melanoma of the skin and mucous membranes of the head and neck
  • orbital tumors
Benign and precancerous lesions:
  • precancerous conditions of the skin and mucous membranes of the head and neck
  • mixed salivary gland tumors, ameloblastomas, cysts, neurinomas, chemodectomas

Consultation and Decision

After the consultation, each clinical case is reviewed by a multidisciplinary team.

Based on the results, the further treatment plan, disease stage, and the necessary intervention or therapy are determined.
