Rights and obligations of patients
At the National Cancer Institute, we strive to ensure that every patient feels comfortable and safe. We make every effort to foster a culture of kindness and respect for each individual’s dignity.
We believe that high-quality treatment is possible only when doctors and patients form one team, working together on the basis of mutual trust and respect.
Every patient of the Institute has the right to:
- High-quality medical care in accordance with modern standards.

- Respect for dignity and privacy during examinations, procedures, and treatment.
- Safe conditions of stay in the hospital and during procedures.
- Access to psychological or spiritual support.
- The right to file complaints or suggestions regarding the quality of medical services.
To ensure that treatment is effective and safe, the patient undertakes to:
- Provide truthful information about their health condition, past illnesses, and medications they are taking.
- Follow the doctor’s prescriptions and adhere to recommendations.
- Inform medical staff about any changes in their well-being.
- Comply with the internal regulations of the Institute.
- Treat hospital property and equipment with care.
- Follow safety and infection control rules (for example, wearing a mask if required).
- Show respect towards medical staff and other patients.
Partnership in Treatment
Treatment is a joint effort of the doctor, the patient, and their family. When the patient actively participates in the process and follows recommendations, treatment becomes more effective and comfortable.
