{"id":72,"date":"2025-06-11T01:29:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T22:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/developer.unci.org.ua\/?p=72"},"modified":"2025-09-06T01:38:55","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T22:38:55","slug":"chudova-novyna-illya-zavershyv-likuvannya-ta-povernuvsya-dodomu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unci.org.ua\/en\/great-news-ilya-has-completed-his-treatment-and-returned-home","title":{"rendered":"Great news - Ilya has completed his treatment and returned home!"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Recently, we were very pleased to discharge from the Pediatric Oncology Department of the National Cancer Institute an incredible boy &#8211; <strong>16-year-old Ilya<\/strong>, who successfully completed a complex treatment and returned home!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Last November, Ilya was diagnosed with a serious illness &#8211; <strong>Ewing&#8217;s sarcoma<\/strong> of the left fibula. Immediately began treatment, complex and exhausting, which required incredible strength of mind, endurance and determination.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>During this time, Ilya went through:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"\\&quot;wp-block-list\\&quot; wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>8 blocks of chemotherapy, which tamed the disease step by step;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>a complex surgical intervention performed by the head of the department <strong>, Hryhoriy Klymniuk<\/strong>;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>autologous bone marrow transplantation, which was performed by the attending physician <strong>Svitlana Boyko<\/strong> along with chemotherapy.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This treatment required daily hard work and constant interaction of both the medical team and Ilya and his family.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>We are sincerely glad that Ilya is now at home, and that he will undergo a period of recovery, observation and, most importantly, return to normal life. And also to his cherished dream! Ilya loves music and wants to become a guitarist. On St. Nicholas Day, the boy received an electric guitar as a gift. This became possible thanks to the efforts of the institute&#8217;s chaplain, <strong>Pavlo Sokolovskyi<\/strong>. So now Ilya has the time and energy to learn to play it masterfully.<br><strong>Ilya, you are a true example of courage. We believe in you and wish you health, joy and great achievements!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
